THOR’s mechanism and lock are located in the base of the THOR (legacy safes have these in the front of the door where burglars focus their attack) making it extremely difficult to successfully defeat. In fact, safe crackers don’t consider most legacy gun safes to offer real security.
Ease of Access
THOR’s door rotates into the body by almost 180°. When the door is in the open position the contents are very easy to access (the interior is now wide open for access with the door rotated inside the body). Additionally, the interior also rotates 360° allowing for ease of access to each and every weapon. The THOR isdesigned to hold a large number of weapons, ammunition and accessories. Depending on the type of long rifle, the THOR can store at least 21 long rifles and hundreds of hand guns.

Protection Against Fire
The THOR’s door and body are completely protected from fire and heat with ceramic blankets rated to 2300°F, within double walled 0.125” (X2) steel skin.
Nearly all legacy gun safes have gypsum (dry wall) which does not protect well against fire and heat as several areas of the safes have no protection in the bolt work and door jamb areas where drywall cannot be inserted.
The design of the THOR lends itself to being protected from fire and heat as the ceramic blanket is not cut for bolt work (a continuous blanket) as with legacy safes and the door – the door/body gap (is) protected with an expandable fire proof seal.
